Install Your Cyprus eSIM Before You Fly (iPhone & Android)

· 1 min read

The best time to install a travel eSIM is at home, the day before you fly, while you have good Wi-Fi and no queue behind you. Your plan's validity only starts when it first connects in Cyprus, so installing early costs you nothing.

Before you start

  • You need a Wi-Fi connection during installation.
  • Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Dial *#06# and look for an EID.
  • Don't delete the eSIM once it's installed. Deleting it usually removes the plan permanently. Turning it off is fine.

iPhone (iOS 17.4 and later)

  1. Open your confirmation email on your iPhone and tap Install on iPhone.
  2. Follow the prompts: tap Continue, then name the line something like "Cyprus".
  3. When asked about your default line, keep your home SIM for calls and choose the Cyprus eSIM for mobile data (you can change this later).

Older iOS or no button? Go to Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Use QR Code and scan the QR code shown on another screen, or enter the codes manually.

Android (Samsung, Pixel and others)

  1. Open Settings → Connections (or Network & internet) → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
  2. Scan the QR code from your email (shown on another screen), or choose to enter the activation code manually.
  3. Name the line "Cyprus" and finish setup.

When you land in Cyprus

  1. Turn the Cyprus eSIM line on.
  2. Set it as your mobile data line.
  3. Turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM. This is required, and it's free on our plan.
  4. Turn off data roaming on your home SIM so your home carrier doesn't charge you.

Within a minute or so you should see a Cyprus network name such as CYTA / Vodafone or Epic in your status bar. Still not connected? Restart your phone and check that data roaming is on for the eSIM line.
