UK Roaming in Cyprus 2026: EE, O2, Vodafone, Three & More

Since Brexit, UK networks decide for themselves whether you pay to use your phone in Cyprus. Some still include it free; others charge a daily fee every day you use your phone. This guide compares the main UK networks for the Republic of Cyprus (Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, Ayia Napa) and explains why Northern Cyprus is a different story.
Checked on 21 October 2026, mostly on the networks' own websites. Where a figure only came from a third-party comparison site, we say so. Prices usually rise each April, and your exact charge depends on your tariff and when you joined, so check your account or app before you travel.

Plans that include roaming: some EE and Vodafone tariffs include EU roaming (for example EE's higher-tier plans and Vodafone plans with Euro or Global Roaming), and older EE plans started before 7 July 2021 may too. Check your own plan.
What a week in Cyprus costs on a daily fee
Daily fees add up quickly, especially for families:

A prepaid Cyprus data eSIM is a one-off price per phone, with no daily fee: for example €5.99 for 3GB over 30 days or €7.99 for 5GB on our Cyprus plans. If your network includes Cyprus free and the data cap is enough for you, you don't need one.
Northern Cyprus is not part of EU roaming
Every UK network that mentions it treats Northern Cyprus (Kyrenia, Famagusta, north Nicosia) as outside its Europe zone:
- Vodafone: £8 a day (Zone C).
- Sky Mobile: £2 a day, listed under "Turkey (incl. Northern Cyprus)".
- giffgaff: Turkish rates apply (20p/MB data).
- EE, O2, Three, Tesco, iD and the others: charged at non-EU rates. We couldn't confirm an exact price on their official pages, so check before you go or keep data roaming off.
The north uses different networks (KKTCELL and KKTC Telsim). A Cyprus eSIM doesn't work there either. See our Northern Cyprus guide for what does.
Near the Green Line? Pick your network manually
In Nicosia and near the buffer zone, your UK phone can latch onto a northern network and start charging non-EU rates while you're still in the Republic. Set your network manually to Vodafone or Epic: on iPhone, Settings → Mobile Data → Network Selection; on Android, Settings → Mobile networks → Network operators. Three, Tesco and iD all give the same advice.
The cheaper alternative: a Cyprus data eSIM
If your network charges a daily fee, a prepaid eSIM usually costs less for a week or more. You keep your UK SIM in place for calls and texts (including bank security codes), and use the eSIM for data:
- Buy a Cyprus eSIM before you travel. It arrives by email in seconds.
- Install it at home over Wi-Fi (about two minutes).
- Land in Cyprus, switch the eSIM on for mobile data, turn on its Data Roaming, and turn off data roaming on your UK SIM.
Most iPhones since the XR/XS, Google Pixels since the Pixel 3 and recent Samsung Galaxy phones support eSIM. Dial *#06#: if you see an EID, you're good to go. Your phone also needs to be unlocked; UK phones sold since December 2021 can't be sold locked, but older contract phones may still be.

Is Cyprus included in UK free roaming?
On some networks, yes: O2, Tesco Mobile, iD Mobile, giffgaff and SMARTY include the Republic of Cyprus in their allowance (within a data cap). EE, Vodafone, Three, Sky and VOXI charge a daily fee on most current plans.
How much is EE roaming in Cyprus?
EE charges a daily fee on most pay-monthly plans unless your plan includes roaming. Third-party comparison sites list it at about £2.72 a day in 2026, with 7- and 12-day passes. Pay-as-you-go customers pay £2.50 per 24 hours. Check your EE account for your exact rate.
Is O2 roaming free in Cyprus?
Yes, O2 includes the Republic of Cyprus at no extra cost, with a 25GB fair-use cap on larger plans. Northern Cyprus isn't included.
Does Three charge for roaming in Cyprus?
It depends on when you joined. Plans started between October 2021 and December 2025 pay £2 a day; plans from 18 December 2025 pay £2.75 a day. Pay-as-you-go and plans from before 1 October 2021 have no daily charge.
Is Northern Cyprus included in UK roaming?
